Not enough RAM to render a frame: How to allocate more RAM to AE

Hi all,
I would like to re-address this issue to you guys. How to assign RAM memory to AE? Does the program allocate it automatically?
I am trying to export/ render a composition with a Roto Brush effect applied:
At 1/3 of the rendering I get a message:

Unable to render the current frame. Either decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame or install more RAM.

I certainly have enough memory on my computer (16GB)
See the attached message. Thank you and let me know if you have any ideas.

Izabela

If you're using multiprocessing (render multiple frames simultaneously), turn it off.

If it doesn't help, you have other issues and we'll need to ask more questions. One that comes to mind immediately is, "Do you have a very large still at the point where the render fails?"
