Stepped away from my computer for dinner break. Computer had done update. Tried to start playing an open file and instantly got bsod. Computer was restarted without mini dump and when I tried to reopen AE my aep file that I had spent a month and a half working on was completely missing. Any ideas where it could be??? Frantic, please help...

Sorry, no clue.
We know NOTHING about the precise versions of your OS and your AE versions... right down to the last decimal point. We know nothing about your hardware.

What kind of "open file" did you try to play?
What got updated?
Where was the AE project file located? Where are the backup project files located?

Using AE cs6 on win 7. All aep files are located on my F drive. I was working on my project, and left for dinner. I did save my project before I left but I left AE open. When I came back, I hit my "0" key to play my animation, I got BSOD. After restart, I started AE and my AEP file was missing... Looked all over for it. Since I have certain time constraints I have already started working feverishly to redo this project.
