So I thought this would be very simple, but I am having trouble. I have a shot of a sign, that is tilted. I want the logo that is on it to "fly off" the sign. I have an image of the logo. Now I just cant get it to match the perspective. I tried corner pin but I can't animate that to "fly off".

Thank you.

If the sign isn't moving you should use a 3D layer, ie make the replacement logo layer a 3D layer and animate it's position to make it go off screen.

Thank you for the response. However, I have already tried this and I can't get the perspective to match.

If your camera is moving then you need to 3D Camera Track the shot to first lock it into place before you animate it off. If your camera isn't moving then you're not doing things correctly because you should be able to lock in the insert logo with either Corner Pin or as a 3D layer or even a combination of the two.

The camera isn't moving. I understand what you are saying about making a 3d layer and/or corner pin. Using corner pin, I was able to match the perspective almost perfectly, but then I can't animate a corner pin to look natural, as it the logo comes off the sign. As with just using the 3d positioning tools, I can line up the 3d object (logo) with the sign, but the perspective doesn't match. Please take a look at the picture.

Remember, I want to match the logo up with the sign, then make the logo "fly off" the sign, and come flat in the scene.

Thank you

I suggest you place a Solid over the original logo to create a seamless overlay. Then place your insert logo into place and animate as per your requirements. By removing the original logo with a Solid overlay, you will have more leeway when inserting your logo.

That is a good idea, thank you. But, I still have the problem of matching the perspective. Even if I remove the original logo and put this one in place, if it isn't properly aligned due to the distorted perspective, it won't look right. Is there a way to make a sort of perspective grid in 3d that I can align other 3d layers to?

I should have suggested earlier that your insert logo should ideally be orthogonal - without perspective. Then make it a 3D layer and you should have no problems.

Yes, I have imported the original logo.

I am having trouble matching this flat logo to the sign.

You should 3D track it like someone said or try something different.
Keep your digitized orthogonal logo matched to the perspective of the original logo as closely as you can but keep the opacity to 0 and just when it's about to fly off start increasing the opacity with a sharp curve turn on forced motion blurr and you will have the perfect scene.

If you have trouble doing any of what's been said here let me know I'd be happy to help out.
