Oculus rift Stereoscopic 3d (side by side) content workflow

I need to composite footage I've rendered from Maya for the oculus rift. Stereo 3d (side by side) render layers with Arnold aov's. I'm hoping for a tutorial/plugin/script to give me a simplified single (normalized?) view/workspace, similar to the directors view camera we have attached to the oculus rig/lens shader in Maya.
This is my first stereo dome comp job, but I've been making content for domes for a while, and have strong AE skills: so any help is appreciated!
