New to After Effects (not to Adobe, if that matters) and I am working on a project in which I have to remove some blemishes, which I would be ok with, however, in my footage, an arm passes over the area. It presents some problems because

1. The mask picks up the arm and creates funkiness within its bounds, and I've tried to reshape the mask every key frame and that just doesn't work (and don't laugh)
2. The mask is pushed away by the arm

And probably a whole host more that I haven't seen.

Seriously, help me save my sanity - how is the best way to do this? Do I need to include the clip so you can see?

I did end up figuring it out through stubborness. If you are about to throw your computer in the trash for this very problem then just try this-

1. Mask track each blemish before the object passes. Fade in/out appropriately to avoid weird flying masks everywhere.
2. Mask track each blemish again after the object passes.

Who knows if mask track is even the right term, whatever, it worked ;)
