So, using CC 2014, latest update on Windows 8.1 pro, have one item in the comp, a R3D file. I've applied a keying effect to it.
Now I want to render it to a DPX 10 bit sequence with alpha.
Hit render, and the render button does not change from blue and the status displays "Pre-flighting render items. Render items to check: 1" then the status eventually goes blank. Nothing happens.
I'm posting this because I finally figured it out, in case you run into the same thing.
Seems because I used a period in the render subfolder's name, the above occurred. Changed the period to an underscore and it started rendering no problem. You can have any number of periods in the filename, just not the folder name, at least not like a folder named "A014_C008_0101X1_001.R3D"
When I render image sequences, and the destination folder is nested in a few other folders, I like to give it an uncomplicated name: "Sid", "Joe", "Ace"... you get the idea. I can always re-name it later.
