Spherical Field Repulsion

This topic is about Trapcode Particular, which I am currently using to try and create a repulsion effect. But it doesn't quite work out.
I have a balloon that is moving up (see the following image), and I would like the sprites to get rejected like in space, where objectifs eventually stop moving.
I used Spherical Field but the problem is the particles get back to their places once the balloon is far enough. I'd like them to stay where they got when repulsed.
