Hello everyone,

I am trying to apply the Vegas effect to a text layer. From the looks of it, it seems that it isn't possible. I've checked this: and I haven't found anything mentioning that it cannot be used with text.

More specifically I am trying to recreate a tutorial on videocopilot. He applies the vegas effect to a text layer. As soon as the "Accept Lights" is turned off, the vegas effect shows on the text int he preview window. With me, however, I don't get any sort of effect. If I choose Transparent all I see is black.

What am I missing?

The default channel Vegas looks at is intensity. If your text is black, it won't see anything. Set Vegas > Image Contours > Channel to Alpha instead. Does that help?
