I'm referring to the logo build around the 2:20 mark, there is just so much interesting stuff going on, but I have no idea how to do it. Could anyone help me find a tutorial or explain how it is done?

Most that looks like it could be done with animating the paths of shape layers. Andrew Devis has a lot of tutorials on Shape Layers that might get you moving down the right path.

Bezier Warp could be used also to distort rectangular shapes - each one should be on a separate layer and the layer size should match the rectangle size.
