Replacing a Blown Out Screen with Power Point JPEGs
on Oct 28, 2014 at 9:50:07 pm

Hello,

I shot a video of a lady giving a presentation which was accompanied by a Power Point slide show projected on a screen. In the video the screen is not really visible so what I want to do is remove it, essentially leaving a transparent hole. I will then layer JPEGs of the original Power Point over the hole.

However, the lady occasionally walks in front of the screen so I will need to mask around her when she does.

I am new with AE so I really don't know the best way to go about doing this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

Is the shot locked down, or does the camera move?

If the screen is totally blown out, I'd probably try to start with pulling a luma key (use the Extract effect to key out the blown out whites).

Thanks for the response Walter! The shot is locked off. The screen isn't completely blown out, just enough to make it un-readable. Assuming I did use the luma key, how would you go about masking around the presenter as she walks in front of the screen?

Thanks!
