Adobe After Effects Insufficient RAM. Multiprocessing disabled

Ok, I have 2 similar compositions.
live recorded footage.
multiple cameras.
2 hours.
most footage is 1080p 29.97
some of it is 23.97
some minor levels and curves.
When I looked at it, the actual used cpu's are 0.
if I set the ram to .75 (I think it is) I can use 2.
(2x) 2.83 quad core intel xeon's with 32 gb ram.
no clue what causes it. any ideas?

Not sure how to delete the thread.
but it was simple when I thought about it.
I was importing project files not actual footage.
once I got rid of those, and reloaded the comp, no problems.
got my processors back :)
