I'm trying to work with Alexa Log C footage in After Effects. I cannot assign a profile to my footage because all the options are greyed out.

I have already gone into project settings and assigned a rec 709 working space. It even says color management is on.

It doesn't seem to be a problem with just the Alexa footage either, no imported footage is any different. I've tried it on CC 12 and CC 2014 with the same result.

Please help,

I am having this same issue with ProRes 422 footage from FCPX.
Controls on the Color Management tab of the Interpret Footage dialog are grayed out.

Did anyone resolve this? Just "upgraded" to CC mid project and cannot color manage my Amira footage....

engineers said that certain codecs use a different interpretation engine and so cannot be modified in the panel.

from an older post "the engineers said, use effect utility color profile converter to undo the change by applying hdtv to universal film, then visa versa."

or your own exact color management as appropriate.

I'm having the exact same problem. I was able to interpret the footage with the previous version of AE, but lost the ability to interpret as Universal Camera Film Print Density, which I need, the moment we upgraded. This has brought on so much trouble with this project, and the due date is looming.

I'm not well versed at color management.

Can anybody guide me here? What does "applying to hdtv to universal film" even mean? Is this an intended feature? How on earth can I interpret my footage, or make it show correctly for rendering on CC 2015.3?

apply adjustment layer then -effect utility - Color Profile Converter effect

set input as hdtv
set output as universal film
