Hey guys, I'm having a problem with the Element 3D plugin for Adobe After Effects. I have Adobe After Effects CC 2014, and whenever I open up Element 3D, it takes about half a minute, then an error pops up saying Element 3D failed to initialize OpenGL. Now, I'm pretty sure OpenGL is enabled , but if it isnt someone please tell me how. Anyway, when I click scene setup and import my .c4d model or whatever, it loads fine, but shows nothing but a black screen in the preview box. Here are my computer's specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2733M CPU @ 1.50GHz

Installed Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.80 GB Usable)

System Type: 64-Bit Operating System, x64-based processor

I am running WIndows 8.1 btw.

One more thing, whenever I close After Effects, another error pops up saying something that Element has encountered an unrecovrable error, please compress the following file..... I have to use task manager to force close the message otherwise it keeps popping up. Any help would greatly be appreciated Thank you so much.

Your system specs are somewhat low for Ae.

What GPU do you have in your system? Though Ae itself does not generally render on the GPU, Element 3D does.

Um, I believe it is Intel.

[Paul Fisherman] "Um, I believe it is Intel."

I don't believe Element 3D supports Intel graphics.

You should check with their support team.

oh no...you're right. They dont. Well, is there any work around this or can I use some other program? I mean, After Effects comes built in with Cinema 4D but thats too advanced for me. I want to keep it to the Element 3D level. Anything at all?

Add a graphics card? They're not terribly expensive for a low-end one.
You could also use AE's built-in ray-traced 3d renderer, but without a GPU it will render really slowly.
C4D will render more quickly and it's actually not too complicated to get started with the basics. There are some learning resources here [link].

Well I have a .c4d file and I import it into ae. Then, it loads and I see my model. When I try to scale it it, it says Layer must match comp.....what do I do? And how to I import the model into an existing footage? (Sorry, im not familiar with 3D oobjects, just vfx )

You have to do scaling in C4D. The C4D layer needs to stay the same in AE.

Oh, Thx. But just one last thing...do you know how to fix the dynamic link servor error? Im trying to track some footage and then the error just pops up at the end of the tracking.

Check your firewall and antivirus software. They can often mess up anything that uses dynamic linking (such as tracking).

Maybe Zaxwerks Invigorator Pro [link]? Try the demo, I'm not sure if it has GPU limitations, too.
