Hello everyone, first time posting here, if this belongs to another section please forgive-me.

I made a subtitle script that takes SRT files and creates a text layer with keyframes containing the subtitles. But there's one problem. Some of the text have the italic tag: <i>text</i>
How can I set the text layer to be in italic just when it have this tag.

I'm currently having two layers, one with the keyframes, and the second(with italic format) which checks if the text contains italic reference using expression, if it does I set the transparency of the first one to 0 and the second to 100. But I find it very 'hacky'.

Is there a proper way to change the text properties in a single layer?
