I have a video of me in my room filmed using a camera on a tripod (completely still camera). I have a still from the same video of just my room without me. Can i use this to key out the background, just leaving myself? I've looked but all I can find is people using masks to mask out the person which is not what I want.

You could try a difference key, though even when used, usually you will have to do some masking to return some video. Here's a tutorial: http://lesterbanks.com/2012/10/using-the-difference-matte-for-removing-elem...
