Hello All,

This is my first post here so bear with me please.

I am making a Light grid like the one you find in discos, like this one DISCO FLOOR
I want to light up and animate the floor lights in different patterns, right now this is what i have done,
1. I have created a grid of rectangles using shape layers.
2. Added one of Dan Ebberts expression in the opacity, which samples the alpha value from a target layer and uses that as value.

this is working out quite well, but the opacity just turns on and off very quickly, it looks like LED lights which instantly turn on and turn off.
I need the opacity to slowly fade in to 100 and then slowly fade out to 0, based on the pattern that i create in the target layer.
Can anyone help me with this.

sorry for my english, i hope i was clear with the question.

I would post this question in Expressions Forum, quite likely Dan will be able to modify the expression to what you need.

Also you will want to post the expression you are using, so he knows what he is working with.
