I'm pulling my hair out wondering why AE is being so stupid.

I've done this a million times. I have a sequence in premiere. I save the project. I go into After Effects. File > Import > File > Select Premiere Pro Project > Select the Sequence

Then it imports, and I click/drag it into the timeline icon to create a composition and there it is.

Not anymore. Now when I do that last step, it creates a new composition that's nothing but a black screen. Yet, the video sequence thumbnail is there, and I can double click on the imported sequence and play it. Yet, I can't create a fricken working composition!

Anyone know what the problem is?

Thank you

AE/PP CC

I'm pretty sure it's something wrong with the video clip because I can import a sequence into AE that works, but if I copy/paste the video clip from another sequence into the one that works, it stops working.

Same video format, from same camera, from same footage that the working clip is - so idk what's going on.
