I don't know what in the world is going on. I'm sure I accidentally hit something to make it all screwy, but now I don't know how to switch it back to normal.

I have 3 compositions open in an After Effects project right now. The first one I created by dropping a Quicktime file into the "create a new composition" icon. The file is 34 seconds long. That composition is fine. The next composition I created the same way, but with a different file this time. This one starts at 39;17 instead of 0;00.

Any one have any idea what has happened-or more importantly-how I switch it back? It's workable, just annoying.

Thank you!

Composition>Composition Settings and change Starting Timecode to 00

It is easier to destroy than to create.
More fun, too.

[Sally Vale] "Any one have any idea what has happened-or more importantly-how I switch it back?"

Jeff told you how to switch it back.

I'll add when you drop a movie onto the new comp button to make a new composition, its starting time is based on the timecode of the movie. This is a really useful feature when you want the TC of your output to match the TC of your input.
