Hi Guys,

Currently I am working on this slideshow in After Effects CS6 and I was wondering if it's possible for After Effects to show me if assets are used in the project. Like with a label. Or if there are any plugins that can do that in some sort of way (like adding a automatic comment).

Cheers!

Marten

Hi Marten,

I think you'd get what you're looking for under File -> Collect Files.

This will put all the files you're using, as well as the After Effects project, into a folder you specify. That way you can be sure that all the assets in that folder are what's used in the project.

[Marten Kopp] "Currently I am working on this slideshow in After Effects CS6 and I was wondering if it's possible for After Effects to show me if assets are used in the project."

Fun and little-known Ae tip: in the Project panel, type "used" in the search box. You can also type "unused" to see assets that not in use or "missing" for assets that are offline.

You can also search by type (i.e., "png" or "quicktime") if the Type column is shown.

If you want to eliminate unused assets from the project, you can use File > Dependencies > Remove Unused Footage.

Wow. Thanks Walter, I'll definitely use that later.
