Mattes with custom colours (After Effects)
on Jun 1, 2014 at 10:33:59 am

Hi there!

So I have two layers. For each pixel in layer A, I want it to only be visible if the pixel on layer B that has the same position as the aforementioned pixel is colour x.

Like an Alpha Matte, but instead of using the transparency of the layer, I use a colour to allow/deny.

How would I achieve this?'

Thankyou!

I would make an alpha matte by using a keying effect to keep or reject the color you want.
