Hi There,

of course I have already asked Google and didn't find an answer.

What is it all about?
I did a Movie with animated statistics (expression driven) fr one of my clients. He liked it so much that he wants to use this for all of HIS Customers ... individually. Doesn't sound bad - but the thing is ... we are talking about tens of thousands of movies. He came up with the idea because he saw the facebook-movie and the "museum of me" by Intel. So I have the challenge of creating something similar.

But I have no idea where to start :) I would know how to do this in Flash ... but he doesn't want a flash-movie. So I thought about sth like: AE loads a XML-File for each client (and each renderprocess) . reads the Data and puts them into the regular expressions.

any suggestions / ideas how to start and if this is even possible?

I'd start here, with Michael Cardeiro's brilliant CompsFromSpreadsheet:

However, if you'd prefer to write your own custom solution, you'll need the scripting guide:

Wow. This really helped. I will try the script you suggested. Really sounds promising :)
