Continuous Raster and 3D Rotation at the Same time in a Precomp?
on Apr 6, 2014 at 12:43:13 pm

Hey guys. Consistently getting a glitch and wondering if there is a solution.

When I'm using a precomp (specifically, a set of character hands which are then used with Time Remapping in the main comp) I can't get both Continuous Raster and 3D rotation at the same time.

If I try to use both, the bounding box does 3D rotation, but the contents do not. They don't show up in the render, either.

If I turn off Continuous Rastering, it works as normal. But then of course it ends up looking like garbage.

I tried the same thing in AE CS6 to see if it was just a version thing (I primarily use CS4). Same thing.

Help?

Do the layers in the PreComp have the 3D switch enabled?

Here is an example with a nested Composition with CR (actually CT) and 3D rotation.

Oh, sweet... yeah, that did it. Thanks so much! Surprised I didn't think of that.

By the way, are there any guidelines on which posts belong in the regular After Effects forum and which go in the Basics forum? I'm never sure.
