I'm on a show using AVID MC7 on a facilis (Basically Unity) over a fiber network. I keep trying to export from AVID using AAF, I have tried, link to…, consolidate media and basically every other option to export from AVID.

When I do pro import into AEP CC I get the beach ball for about 10 minutes and then a sequence with all the cuts and all media offline.

I did the same test to a FW drive and was able to open it rather quickly on my macbook pro without problem. The same FW drive is very slow to open on the AVID that's on the fiber network.

Has anyone had problems or a solution to using Pro Import basically Automatic Duck on a fiber network.

Thanks as always.

I've had mixed results using AE/Avid AAF with Facillas. Recently on a project, we created AE project, used pro-import to do some color correction. When I went to re-open the project it would never see the footage, but if I imported the old project into a new one, it would find the footage every time.

Today though it seems to be working fine. Here are my Avid Export settings, to a Facillas drive with the following settings.

Thanks for the help. How are you naming your computers on the fiber network? Each machine we use has a unique name. Also is there a way to open an AAF file to see the details inside of the package?

All of our machines have a unique name also. I don't know of a way to to open an AAF file.

Also, just occurred to me, but what type of file/media are you using? In the test I ran today, all my files were either imported or transcoded in the Avid, there wasn't a single AMA clip in my timeline.

All media is shot on RED and transcoded to Avid MXF so there is no AMA media. I ran another test and I just get a beach ball. It can't find it. So weird. The solution for now is to consolidate media onto a FW drive. I know this is going to bite us in the ass during onlining. I will check out Ficylis setting here in a bit. I'm under the gun right now with an edit. Thanks again.
