Tracking an object in mocha that moves behind static objects?

I tried a little searching and didn't really see what I was looking for.

I have pretty much mastered the basics to mocha and can create some really cool tracking scenes.

The one issue I have though, is lets say I'm tracking a fake sign that I have marked for tracking purposes, and it moves behind a post or pole or something. It's a split second or so, but the track gets all wonky (of course.)

Is there a way to mask the foreground object out so when I track the layer doesn't get screwed up? Or at least, what is my best possible solution?

mocha's workflow for tracking an area with foreground occlusion is as follows -

1) track the foreground object

2) un-check tracking (gear icon) for the foreground object (otherwise mocha will re-track it again in the next step

3) ENSURE THAT THE FOREGROUND OBJECT/LAYER IS AT THE VERY TOP OF THE MOCHA LAYER STACK. Then track the background object

That's it. You can watch a related tutorial here -

That was amazingly and miraculously simple! Thank you so much for the reply.
