I have a long transcript that is set to audio. I want to highlight portions of text at a time by changing its color from black to white. I have tried using the range selector, but I do not want it to scroll the color through. I simply want a few sentences to fade from black to white then fade back out to black and so on. Is there an easier way to change the color on portions of text overtime?

If it's a long piece of text, are you not using animating it to rollup the screen? Or just fading in & out of portions of the tesxt on screen? It's a lot easier -- not to mention more readable -- to do it that way. The characters are bigger.

Duplicate text layer, change color to white, animate masks and opacity to have the words you want change in and out to white. That's one way of doing it.
