What the heck are my handles doing? This happened to me a while back and just sort of went away on it's own. Now it's doing it again.

It's like all the keys are clamped at first, and if I adjust the handles the curve goes crazy.

Strange! I suggest you post a link to the AEP so that others can take a closer look.

It's doing this even if I open a new project. Here's a project file,

The time remmaping property was behaving normaly here, the curves were nothing like that on your SS. Though I had to convert to After CC/windows.

Thanks for taking a look, what's strange is that I've had this issue on 2 separate machines running 2 different versions of AE.

Basically when I convert a keyframe from linear to anything else (auto-bezier, easy ease in or out, ect.) the tangent handles are always flat and adjusting them creates those crazy curves.

Could be a busted preferences issue - so, trash your AE Preferences. Then ensure that you have the latest update to your version of AE; regardless if the problem persists.

If there is still no solution then report with FULL details of your setup - OS & AE versions and list the other apps that are running concurrently with AE.

Yes, deleting the preferences (holding command+option+shift at start up) appears to have solved the problem.

Should have tried that, it seems to be the answer to a lot of issues.

Thanks for the help!

[Mike Throck] "Yes, deleting the preferences (holding command+option+shift at start up) appears to have solved the problem."

That's good to hear! Don't forget to update your version of AE.

The curves don't look as bad when I open your project. It does run into a flat line farther down the timeline though.

The reason is that the time remap value is going above the duration of the clip. The clip is 1474 frames long, once the time remap value reaches 1474 frames the value will not go above this, that's the flat line in your screenshot.

Sadly the problem has returned, and trashing the preferences no longer fixes it. I've made a quick video of whats happening,

Tanget problem

Is there anywhere else I should be reporting this? I'm running CS4 but have experienced the same issue with 5.5.
