Have been trying to get the most out of my PC and now have the ray tracing up to a good speed by using multiple gfx cards,

However when I use a plugin like shatter it crawls along at a very slow speed.

Seems to me that this might be the way the software is written ---- I can see that for this task the machine only uses one CPU core ---- anyone got any ideas / insights please?

The Shatter effect was written in the 1990s to simulate a full 3D environment. It is not fast.

That means that effect is not multithreading and is single threaded only. There are still some effects that don't multithread well or at all.
