Is it possible to import native Avid DNxHD mxf media files into AE? I was experimenting with the Boris Transfer plug-in and have been unable to get the media to be recognized, though it will pull in the AAF. It just won't recognize the media.

I thought this would be a more efficient way to work with Avid and AE, but if I have to transcode the footage I may as well simply export QTs for import.

Yes, in After Effects CC (12.0). Import of DNxHD files is built in.

If you have an older version of AE, you can get the automatic duck plugin for free. Then you just have to export an AAF of your timeline and then import with Automatic Duck to get it into AE. The duck guys ended up working with Adobe and from CS6 on it's part of After Effects.

Thanks for the information, I'll give AutoDuck a try.
