One of our customers, Dave Legion at Funky Medics brought this clip to our attention.

This is a great example of some character animation created entirely in After Effects using Mettle's FreeForm and MamoWorld's Lip Sync.

A Story of Hope for the FH Foundation. A great animation for a great cause. Please help spread the word by sharing this link.

I like it.

Was Freeform used for animating the head/face to allow for the quasi-3D animation with head turns and such?

Thanks Todd. Yes, FreeForm was used for the head, the hair, the guitar and in other parts of the clip as well. Dave (Funky Medics) just got in touch with me and told me that he plans on putting together a tutorial for this. I will post a link when he is done.

Cheers,

This is the same technique that Dan Gies has shown, right?

For those who aren't familiar with Dan's methods, here are some great resources:

Yes. Dave at Funky Medics was highly inspired by Dan Gies work and his tutorials. Dave tells me he took things a step further with this piece. I look forward to seeing Dave's tuts and I will post link(s) when I get them.

Cheers,
