I've had a problem with rendering with the alpha channel. I do make sure that I have checked the box so there's no background and render it with RBG+Alpha quicktime.

When I then import it after it's rendered there's no background in After Effects. But the background still shows when I import it to other programs like Sony Vegas and Corel Video Studio Pro X4

How do I render it so it keeps the alpha channel no matter what program you export it too?

You may want to post in the other studios, but if you bring it back into AE and you have an alpha channel, the issue is that Vegas and Corel are interpreting the footage correctly. You many need to change the way you are importing into the programs to tell the software that there is an alpha channel and it needs to use it, that's how it is in Avid.
