Animate c4d element in AE CC

Hi folks,

I have to animate a butterfly for a logo animation. Nothing too complicated. Wings are flat so the basic AE 3d functionality will do the trick. I need the body to have volume to it though. The body of the butterfly is simply a stretched out sphere.

I figured I would try out the new integration with c4d. I created by body object in C4d and imported it into after effects. All good.

The problem occurs when I try and move that c4d object to match my wings and then animated...
I get a message 'layer size must match comp and use default transform values'.

Am I not understanding the workflow, or does all the animation need to occur in c4d?

Thanks!!

Thanks,
Ari

Yes, you need to do the animation in Cinema 4D.

Thats's what I was afraid of! Sp after all these years, is there still no way to import and animate a 3d object into After Effects?

Thanks,
Ari

I'm going to explore Element 3D from Video Copilot. I'll keep you posted on the results.

Thanks,
Ari
