Will making graphics running at 1080i50p play well on a external HD tv running at 1080i50herz?

If I am incredibly confused please tell the correct format I should use. I aiming for that smooth look.

You're throwing around a lot of i's and p's, way more than what makes sense.

50i in HD is really the same as standard definition PAL 25i. It's 50 fields per second, or 25 interlaced frames. Why we've decided to switch to this naming convention, I don't know.

25p is 25 frames per second, and 50p is 50 frames per second.

You have two choices:

You can convert 25p to 50i by splitting it in fields, so each even and odd field from from the same frame.

You could also convert 50p to 50i by throwing away half of the vertical resolution so each field comes from a unique frame, just as a 50i camera would record it.

It depends on if you want to prioritize size resolution or time resolution.

Thank you for the reply. My clips are at a frame-rate of 25fps. They play perfectly via Black Magic's UltraStudio mini monitor (to a tv display at 1080i50) I want to then overlay graphics over the video using the ATEM TVS. So how can I make my graphics run smoothly. I don;t want them at 25fps, I might not get the smooth look I'm looking for.
