Hello.

In cs5.5 i created a new project and imported several projects into it.
All the projects were saved with render que including two comps(left and right camera for 3D).

It turns out that most comps render fine but some of them render as the cameras would've been deleted. Can't find the cause for this.

Any ideas for a checklist?

Were the imported projects a different version than 5.5?

Have you checked to make sure the cameras haven't been modified in the import?

Have you tried duplicating the camera and deleting the original?

[Dave Berg] "It turns out that most comps render fine but some of them render as the cameras would've been deleted. Can't find the cause for this."

When you add a comp to the render queue, it does not create a copy of the comp. It creates a reference to the comp. Any changes to you make to the comp between adding it to the queue and actually hitting the render button will show in the render.

This means that if you want to render the same comp from the perspective of two different cameras, you should duplicate the comp and configure the cameras separately.

Thank you very much for taking you time to reply.

...Yes, all very true.
It seems that this problem happens because of the cameras are linked to third comp via expressions (they are in different comps (Left, right and anaglyph preview.. preview has a camera that moves the cameras in two other comps)and for some reason when loading project file to a new project the render que doesn't get the expression that is connecting preview and cameras in their own comps and therefore it is rendering them as if i would delete the parent camera and due to that the two other cameras would then be zeroed to "create a new camera" starting position and options.

Dave, thanks for writing back with the solution. Hopefully this will help someone else if they encounter the same problem.
