Hey CC folks -

I'm working on a project where I need to represent the spectrum of electromagnetic energy. Part of what the client wants is a wave form beneath the scale that shows how the frequency of energy increases, and they'd like to use a sine wave image that begins with a wide wave that progressively shortens up the scale.

I'm familiar with making sine waves in AE using a mask, stroke and wave warp, but I don't have a technique for generating this exponential change in frequency on a single path. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Kurt

This resource from Dan Ebberts may help you:

I'd use Dan's expression for the sine in a null and parent that to another null and use it's scale to do that change in frequency.

The make the actuall sine i'd draw that line with trapcode particular linked to the first nulls position. That way i'd had every controll possible on the looks.

Thanks very much for the directions gentlemen, I'll dig into it and let you know how it turns out!

Cheers,
