I want to make a documentary style interview like this and I have been searching the forums and everywhere on how to do this effect in after effects . Can someone please tell me how you can achieve this I'm getting soo frustrated!! Thanks =)

If you do a search on "light leak', you'll find that it was originally an artifact created by film being struck by light either when loading the camera, or before the development process.

There's tons of free clips out there, and there are collections being sold by Artbeats, Pond5, and others. Just do a search on "light leak", or "free light leaks". There's even a plugin for them, but it's so simple to do with some clips (they can also be created using a particle generator, or some moving solids), I don't know why anyone would bother:

Just take your clip, and put it over the underlying video in Additive Mode, or the Blend Mode of your choice.
