So yeah self explanatory question and I'm pretty sure there have been hundreds of slow ram preview questions. My only problem is that my ram preview became progressively slower and slower. After upgrading to 8GB of ram from 2GB of ram, my pre rendering would render faster than the video would play. I then took a break from editing, but when I came back to it, my pre rendering became really slow! It would take up to 5 seconds to render just 1 second of a clip! Can anyone tell me the problem? Is it possible it's from getting a gtx 560 ti (altough it was slowing down a bit when I went from a 520 to a 6670 as well) Thanks for the help!

For questions like yours it is necessary to add the following info:
Version of AE
Where you using any other apps on the machine while AE was open?

We may be able to better assist with the info above.

In addition to the questions Ted raises, I'll ask about your Ae multiprocessing settings. With only 8 GB of RAM, you might see faster renders with multiprocessing turned off.
