Have a Comp that has a layer inside that is a still .psd file. It was a reference layer to see where I would eventually be having a five sec .mov file. I am at the stage now where I have replaced the layer with the .mov but when I playback the project the .mov file is freezer and not playing the actual movie. I would hazard a guess that there is something wrong with the way AE is interpreting the file??
BTW the .mov file plays back ok when in the Comp where I put it.

Sorted now. There was a Time remap keyframe on the layer...doh!

A workaround: add the movie footage to the comp, trim it up as necessary, and paste all the modified attributes of the Photoshop layer into the movie layer.
