3D tiles from a single image or comp?
on May 15, 2013 at 2:12:22 am

Hello,

I am looking for a script or plugin that would create 3D tiles in a grid, from a single image or comp. It doesn't necessarily need to animate the tiles in any way--though that could be cool too :) Mainly the control I'm looking for is number of rows & number of columns, size of tiles, that sort of thing. Does it exist?

thanks!

ML

edit: I'm getting some good ideas from Video Copilot's:

BUT, this method still requires manually creating the grid pattern...

thank you

dancing card, possibly--but I think I need something more customizable

I need to be able to manually drag/move some of the pieces once tiled

Here's another good free one from the developer of Newton 2 for AE:

But probably the most control you'll get over the tiles is from Ridley's suggestion above - Planespace. It creates separate layers for each image, so you have complete control, and can even animate between different layouts of the layers.
