I am rendering 10 second movies in after effects that were shot with a gopro3. I am creating the project via Premier Pro (REPLACE WITH AFTER EFFECTS COMPOSITION) from the premier timeline, which has the same exact video settings as the Gorpo clip settings.

But when I render it in after effects the size of the file is HuGe.

Doesn't after effects render the same file type that is on the timeline?

help please

Short answer- no.
You have to specify in the Output module the kind of container and codec you want AE to Export your Comp.
You need to spend some time reading this info:
