I'm looking into putting 3 GTX580s into a machine to use with After Effects. According to what I've read After Effects should be able to utilize all three of them.

Is anyone else running a setup like this? Are there any hitches to using multi GPUs (all the same model/specs) in After Effects or will it really be 3x the efficiency?

Currently in CS6 AE uses multiple GPUs only for its Ray Tracing process. All other stuff is CPU driven.

See Danny's Google document referenced here:

It has multi-GPU test cases.

Ah. So then that wouldn't help with Open GL?
