Im very impressed with C4D implmentation in CS Next. So much so I shifted gears from Blender to learning C4D. They sent me a free 40 day trial of Studio and I got a 30 day membership to Lynda.com.

Any other suggestions for beginner resources?

Cinversity is good. It's almost entirely Cinema 4D, with forays into other applications that integrate with it.

The "Making It Look Great" series from Motionworks is good. It concentrates on Cinema 4D and After Effects.

I've been watching Rob Garrot's C4D Essentials at lynda.com and I've been pleased thus far.

C4D Lite's features seem too light for AE users. A bundle with C4D Broadcast would have been more apt IMHO.

About a year ago I started with Rob Garrot's tutorials and have to throw another vote for them. His courses are presented in a logical way and are very easy to understand. I'm a big fan and should spend more time doing them.

Nick Campbell over at Greyscale Gorilla is a big influence in C4D motion graphics training and style.

GSG is to C4D as VCP is to Ae.

[Todd Kopriva] "... with all that that implies."

I could have also said "Only more so."

I did check out GSG. Some good tuts there when I get the essentials down.

I watched 2 of the live streaming feeds that Maxon did today. He did one of the demos. It was very helpful to get a feel for workflow and stuff.

After walking my feet off the last 2 days, it was nice to participate with NAB from the comfort of my Herman Miller chair in my edit bay. Sore tootsies!
