illustrator Blending Modes problem

I have to animatate a logo that's delivered to me in illustrator (rgb).

Part of the logo are nicely blended color bars.

It uses soft light, hard light and multiply.

I want to animate these layers and therefore retain the interaction between the color modes in After Effects. But it won't work.

Problem is that the blending modes are behaving differently in AE:

Without the white background it looks like this:

can't get my head around it...

After Effects does not read embedded color profiles from Illustrator files. To ensure color fidelity, assign an input color profile to the Illustrator footage item that matches the color profile with which the Illustrator file was created.

Cross check the color profiles of both after effects project and Illustrator document.
