Problem with "popping" particles (Particular) as soon as they start moving
on Feb 24, 2013 at 5:23:19 pm

Hi everyone,

I need help with a problem in Red Giant's Trapcode Particular:
I basically have a mountain of objects (the particles are sprites that randomly use frames from another composition as textures). The camera flies all the way to the top and then the mountain is supposed to crumble and diappear in the bottom of the screen. I have managed the animation so far by animating the physics time value (0 to freeze the whole thing, 1 when I want it to start crumbling).

My problem is that as soon as the sprites start moving, they overlap each other and particles that where further away before start popping up in front. Do you have any idea how to fix this or how to "cheat" the particles into not overlapping each other? (I was thinking about creating numerous particle systems, giving them no Z depth and then use different far/near vanish-values but that seems a) rather difficult to render and b) very unpractical if I need to change something.

Please help me, I have a deadline tomorrow and no idea how to fix this. ;)
