Imported SWF in AfterEffects scrub through with playhead problem
on Feb 12, 2013 at 11:32:21 am

With a .SWF animation imported successfully into an AE composition, when I scrub through the composition with the playhead from left to right for the first time, everything appears/plays fast normally but when I scrub through backwards (from right to left), the movie clips/graphic stack above each other and stop animating.
What seems to be the problem??
Note that I have rendered part of the composition after seeing this awkward stacking of objects in AE, and the output movie was perfectly ok.

I didn't get that with all the SWF files I have imported to AE...

Thanks

Elcy

Might be some issue with cache. Try flushing the cache and then scrub the CTI. Also the playback depends on the many factors like whether the animation is done with key-frames or by scripting.

Nope. I tried flushing the cache and emptying the disk cache but nothing solved it.

The SWF files do have keyframes as well as nested animations but everything is in [Graphic].
One thing that solved my problem was dividing the original SWF into several shorter SWF animations.... then piling them up one after the other on AE didn't give me any bug....

If you know a better way to solve this, please let me know.
Thanks
