Hey folks at CreativeCow,

Here's my pickle:

I want to change the audio that the audio layer is accessing with expressions/scripts.

An example would be localization, with having two separate files called audio_english.mp3 and audio_spanish.mp3. Instead of going into AE to change the audio layer, I'd like to use an external script to change which file the audio layer is accessing. Is this possible?

If it's just two audio files then it's much simpler to save two different AEPs. If you go the Expressions route, you can use the Layer Expressions Controller to select which audio gets enabled - I believe that this option is viable by setting Audio Levels to -48dB or 0, depending on the selection.

For both situations, the COW's AE Expressions Forum is a more ideal place for your Qs and answers.

Thanks for the response! I'll shift my discussion over to the expressions forum, as suggested.

And your idea of decreasing dB range is great, I'll probably wind up implementing that solution.
