Hey guys,

I have an urgent problem here. My client is waiting on an animation I'm doing. I created a wine bottle in Zbrush and rendered it out in PSD format.

The matte I created for it is working great, until I convert both layers (The PSD render and the matte) to 3D. When I do that, it becomes transparent.

I need it to be 3D so that I can move it in Z space, but it has to be fully opaque.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Tommy

When you create a layer 3D, it accepts shadows and lights.

Because of this reason your matte layer color is changing according to the light intensity.

Select your Matte layer, Press AA(twice), twirl down Material Options and Turn Off Accept light and shadows.

Thanks Vishesh, but I definitely need it to accept environment attributes.

Anyway, I figured it out.

I precomposed the layers and then pushed the new layer back in Z space. That fixed it.

Tommy

Its the same thing that you did. In the precomp there is no light so the luma matte psd is not affected.

The matte does not need to accept environment attributes. The beauty pass, yes. The matte.. no. Vishesh is right.
