I am running cs6. I have particle animate in a fill up an object. Once the object is full, I want the particles to stop producing, but I don't want them to disappear. I just want them to stop, and stay where they are at.

Any suggestions?

I tried to stop the birth rate, and make the longevity last the whole animation but that didn't work.

1. In the Effects Control Panel, Twirl down Particle Property and Change the Opacity map from Birth to Death to Custom. Make a Flat solid Grey Opacity Map.

2. Key Birth Rate to Zero where you want the emitter to stop emitting particles.

3. Increase Resistance(say 2) so that Particles will stop spreading at a certain time.
