Interpolation between still images
on Dec 6, 2012 at 1:46:33 pm

Hi there I am new to after effects but I need to find out how to create interpolation between stills on the program. I have attached a video by Morgan Beringer which shows the effect Im trying to create. still images are used and stretched across time with a variety of time-interpolation methods to create abstract moulding and warping of the images.

The results are taken then edited them together and put them through 2-3 more renders worth of time-based effects, lighting, blurs, colour, etc. (but I dont need help with this part, just the initail process!)

Can anyone help please!?

Many thanks

[James Sanderson] "still images are used and stretched across time with a variety of time-interpolation methods to create abstract moulding and warping of the images. "

You should be able to precomp the sequence of your images, then use the precomp as a source for Timewarp or Twixtor. Adjust time by source frame instead of speed for more control.

I'd think the quality of this method will greatly depend on the source images.

You can watch this tutorial:

It will help you to understand how to use RE:Flex to interpolate between still images.
