I have a smoke stream that by time zero, when the animation starts, I want to be fully populated and not just beginning to emit. In Lightwave 3D I'd achieve this by giving the emitter a negative start time so by time zero the stream would be fully populated. I cannot find a similar setting in AE after a lot of searching and digging through textbooks. Can this be done in AE?

Note: I'm using AE CS6 and CC Particle World.

Many thanks in advance.

Particle World does not have a pre-run setting. One way to achieve what you want is to move the particle layer to an earlier start time, eg: 3 or 4 seconds before the Comp start time.

If you have access to Trapcode Particular, it includes a pre-run setting.

Mark

Simply press " Alt/Opt + [ " to cut the particle layer from the point you want your particles to start.
