Where do I find "Shortcuts" text file in AE CS6???
on Oct 30, 2012 at 5:11:31 am

This is almost a double question, really.

I just installed AE CS6 on my Mac running OS 10.8.

For all of eternity, I have customized my shortcuts by editing that text file, but now I can't find it. Further, I can't even find the "Library" section of my User account on 10.8. Did Apple change something with how the new OS works?

Can someone who is also using CS6 on 10.8 please help me out?

On a PC, it's in the same folder as the Prefs file. You can get to the Prefs file/folder from within AE's Preferences dialog window CMND+Option+; - I'm of course assuming that AE on the Mac shares identical file/folder hierarchy to its PC version.

WOW! Thanks for that info. Apple is truly going to the birds with professional support. Why in the world did they hide that directory???

There may be an easier way, OSX allows you to customize shortcuts for any application from the keyboard System Preferences.

Thanks. Now that I know how to find the silly hidden Library directory, I'll be able to change the settings like before. However, I may also try some tricks with your suggestion of going through the OS, too.

Cheers!
